WWDC dominated, Beats surfaced, Dark Sky on its deathbed
Obviously, the week was largely devoted to news from Apple’s developer conference, WWDC 2021. The main attractions were the new operating systems launching this fall, including iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 15, and macOS Monteray, as well as their many inbound features.
Away from the virtual event, the rumor mill brought up the absent MacBook Pro, with new models now anticipated for a third-quarter launch. There was also apparent signs that Apple wasn’t finished with using Intel, with a Mac Pro apparently mentioned in the beta of Xcode.
Elsewhere, regulatory filings surfaced relating to the “iPhone 13” and the “Beats Studio,” though the latter was also reportedly seen worn by Alex Morgan. There’s also discussion of an “Apple Car” hiring, Microsoft’s Xcloud, and the death of Dark Sky set for the end of 2022.
